Education, a basic right, is slipping away from an entire generation of Syrian children. With over 2.4 million children out of school across the country, the situation in northern Syria is particularly dire, where 1 million children are missing out on their education.
The 2023 devastating earthquake only deepened this crisis, forcing an additional 200,000 children to drop out of school.
In nearly 60% of displacement camps, there are no schools or learning centers, and even where schools do exist, ongoing teacher strikes and continued conflict make regular learning impossible.
Each day that passes without education is another step away from hope and a brighter future for these children.
In response to this urgent need, we are working relentlessly to restore education and provide children with the chance to learn.
